This historic space was reinvented more than a decade ago when its previous owners decided to turn the then-dilapidated space into a dining spot for Guilford locals and visitors. Head chef Glen Dunnings has been part of the Padburys Cafe Restaurant family for almost as long. His seasonal modern Australian menu has a strong focus on fresh, locally sourced produce.
Padburys' wine list draws on the stunning product of the surrounding Swan Valley region. In fact, almost all of the vinos appearing on the list are sourced from within Western Australia with the exclusion of the odd South Australian and New Zealand bottle thrown in for good measure.
The establishment's interior is testament to its rich past with some of the original fittings remaining. Exposed brick walls and recycled timbre surround linen-dressed tables and bentwood chairs. In winter the rustic feel is heightened by an open fire that burns almost constantly throughout the colder months.
