Finding a new home in one of Walsh Bay's many piers is this chic younger sister to Canberra's stalwart eatery. A $5 million fit out has transformed a wharf warehouse into a luxurious restaurant, which twinkles with hundreds of upturned lights hanging from the ceiling. The Sydney incarnation is a step up in style from the Canberra version, with harbour views only adding to the opulence.
True to Mediterranean tradition, diners are actively encouraged to share, with a range of smaller dishes on the menu available for passing around the table. The Turkish standards are textbook quality, including exceptional pide and flavoursome dips. But most will come here for clever modern interpretations of the classics, such as Serif Kaya's signature dish of salmon, crayfish and prawn dolma, lightly battered and served with a piquant sauce.
The mains selection straddles Europe and the Middle East, with a list that might include a lamb rack served with lentils and garlic confit, or kilic balik - swordfish skewered with bay leaves and a fresh lemon sauce. For dessert you can choose from such options as the trio of ice creams - pomegranate, pistachio and raspberry - or a classic semolina and orange cake. Be sure to leave room for the Turkish delight, it's some of Sydney's best.

Gourmet Traveller Feature Review - "With its modern Turkish flavours and glam harbourside setting, the Sydney sibling of Canberra's Ottoman Cuisine shows potential."
Gourmet Travller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide - "Don't skip dessert. Turkey has a brilliant ice-cream tradition, and it's expressed beautifully here in this cavernous pier-perched restaurant in flavours as diverse as cardamom and pomegranate molasses."

Fantastic - the best dining experience
Service was excellent - and timed to perfection so we could get to our show (at the wharf ) .... Service was excellent - the waiter offered to select a range of dishes for us ( with consultation ) and this proved to be an exquisite dining experience Food - absolutely fantastic - we dine out frequently and this was the most flavoursome and well prepared food cooked to perfection. Very highly recommended.

Leisurely Lunch
Chosen as a lunch meeting, the food was excellently prepared and served, reccomendations were spot on and the food itself was delicious. Service was a little on the lacking side, we suspect were were expected to order more wine than we did - this place is notorious for spartan service.
