Osteria Dei Sapori provides faithful Italian cuisine in modern surroundings. Spread over three adjoining rooms, the decor balances a business lunch vibe and family nights out, through a mix of open brickwork, tiled floors and photographs of Italian landscapes. Antipasto, the pride of the kitchen, takes centre stage on an antique side table along with a traditional meat slicer, creating the feeling of eating in the family home. In the Italian fashion, pasta - such as house-made ravioli filled with sweet potato, pumpkin and walnut with butter and sage - is the sole option for entree. Meat from the charcoal grill dominates the mains and the decently sized wine list features predominantly WA and Italian wines with a smattering from interstate. This is Italian at its unashamed best.

Superlative
I had just returned from Rome and two great traditional basic restaurants when I discovered Osteria dei Sapori 9 months ago. Since then I have been once a week. The immediate attraction was its authenticity of food and atmosphere. while a little brighter than the usual Rome restaurant, which is just fine, the food is authentic but nicely unique. it is hard for me to go past the slice of roast pork with the delighful minature roast potatoes but when I have I have found the barbecue exceptional. The anti-pasta is superb, and the entrees always good. The desserts are not their forte. the moretti beer is served at perfect temperature and rates as the one tasty necessity with each visit as a starter. Wine by the glass is always very good.

A Night To Remember
My husband, myself and a large group went to Osteria to celebrate my birthday. I and everyone who attended that night had nothing but praise for the excellent food, service and atmosphere. The staff were exceptional in their service especially dealing with such a large group as well as other tables - the restaurant was packed. A special thankyou to the staff who really outdid themselves by decorating the table and being their lovely selves.

Average italian
I have to agree with the last review, I was somewhat disappointed by Osteria Dei Sapori too. The decor is quaint and cosy. The welcoming service is fantastic, so friendly - very Italian! But once you've been seated, its a whole different story and a bit difficult to get the attention of any waiter.
The wine list is a bit average, nothing stunning and nothing under $35 a bottle. I had the spinach and ricotta pasta, well priced at $16 and then I realized why... I was served six pieces in a large dish. My partner was pleased with his blue cheese fillet (perfectly cooked) but again a tiny serving with a small accompaniment of roasted potatoes. Thankfully we ordered a salad which we both wolfed down. Dessert was the staple Italian choices of Panna Cotta, Tiramisu and various pies, tasted fine.

Unfortunatly unimpressed
After reading the above reviews and veiwing the style and location of this resturant my partner and I were expecting a lovely meal and romantic evening.
Our entrees were both quite nice, both specials prawns and scallops. We then ordered a pasta off the menu and the fish of the day.
The ricotta and spinich ravioli tasted quite nice although we only recieved 6 small pieces on our plate. The fish of the day was a reasonable size dish, although the fish was dry and the potatos were re-cooked.
Needless to say we didn't end up staying for dessert.
So after a very unimpressive meal, we were then overcharged for our wine and our entrees.

Viva Italia
I went with my friends and I ordered the half moon with spinach and ricotta for entree and for my main I ordered the pink snapper cooked on the grill with mashed potato. Honestly.......it was one of the best meals I have experienced. I must add that the 3 italian waiters were a delight and lots of fun, which added to the experience. I would highly recommend the restaurant.

What a disappointment
We (a table of 5) booked a table at Osteria tonight at 7.15. We were served our main course after 9pm. When we asked about the time the time taken, we were told that we had a large table. Meanwhile, a table of seven came and went while we were waiting.

Fabulous food
Delightful ambience (noisy and enthusiastic clientele) and excellent, authentic Italian food. The service may seem arbitrary but it is very efficient and attentive. We were completely impressed. Great prices too!

Incredible food
My girlfriend and I are from the Brighton, UK, and are visiting Perth for a few weeks. We ate at Osteria Dei Sapori last night and used this website to pick it. I chose it on the basis that it sounded similar to a restaurant at home called La Piazza that we both love. I've got to say that the meal we had last night was perhaps the best I have ever had - I certainly can't think of a better one and I have been trying pretty hard! The menu in itself was not remarkable, containing maybe 8 starters and 14 or so mains (with another 5 or 6 relayed by our waiter), and was about 60% seafood (something neither of us are keen on).
I chose fillet steak with blue cheese sauce and my girlfriend had spinach and ricotta pasta parcels with tomato and basil sauce. As I say, nothing that sounds out of the ordinary - but is was sooooo good. My steak was cooked to perfection, as was the veg (an extra side dish - something that usually annoys me but I would forgive these guys anything) but the real star for me was the blue cheese sauce, which was incredible - full of stilton taste but with none of the overpowering build-up of flavour that you too often get - a perfect accompaniment to the steak. Dessert was stunning too: creme brulee and a chocolate and mascarpone cheese cake.

Special Dinner
Last night my partner took me for a romantic dinner to this nice little restaurant that we walk past on many occasions. We sat down for an early meal and to our surprise the restaurant filled up very quickly, not bad for a Tuesday night.
We were made very welcome and after being seated were presented with fresh warm bread, olives and vinegar/oil dressing along with water in our glasses. We were impressed to say the least! Our waiter later described the evening’s specials which were long and sounded impressive, however we decided to order from the menu instead. For a change we decided to order wine by the glass rather than the bottle so that we could sample different wines during the night, my partner decided on white while I had red.
We settled on the antipasto to start and must say we both thought it was the best antipasto we had been served anywhere in Perth, it was so fresh and delicious. For mains my partner had the veal cutlet while I had the baby goat along with fresh vegetables. Both meals were presented very well and tasted divine, the only fault we had with the mains was the level of salt in both meals, too much for our liking especially in the baby goat, however the quality of the meals was fantastic, we had a very good evening and both left full! I would definitely return for seconds.

Amazing Italian in Perth - like I was in Italy!!
Went for a nice catch-up dinner with a friend and had the best time. The food was amazing; I had the vittello ai funghi and it was so very tender, tasty and filling. We also had a sweet white Italian wine to accompany our meal which was divine - it just touched the palate and was so smooth. The espresso was wonderful also! The wait staff were very friendly, attentive and knew what they were talking about, which was a nice change. The atmosphere was warm, homely with a slight funk that made the whole restaurant buzz. We were lucky enough to even to witness the very Sicilian pasta pot clapping tradition for a fellow patron's birthday!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, as did my friend, and we will be going back there in the future.

Best Italian in Perth
I went here last night for my birthday, and I preface this by saying I worked in a good Italian restaurant for 3 years. This was the best italian meal I have had, better than some I have had in NYC even. The place had a fantastic friendly, noisy yet still classy atmosphere, and was busy on a Monday night, which says a lot. Waiting staff were full of character, friendly, helpful and frankly the most efficiently non-pretentious I have had in Perth. Professionals while not making me, a longhaired band manager, feel like I shouldn't be there. The antipasto was amazing, a good variety of all fresh, and all made on the premises, seafood, vegetables and meats. Very, very tasty: the homemade melanzane and artichoke were sensational. Then we had the seafood grill and the meat grill, both reasonably priced for what they were, and both cooked to perfection. My meat grill had salsicce, quail, lamb, and several other meats perfectly cooked and marinated. A decent and well priced wine list, a great dessert (mascarpone and chocolate cake) and a great atmosphere made this a truly sensational meal.
