The atmosphere at this Mediterranean restaurant is casual and relaxed, with many families and McLaren Vale winery-tourists stopping in for a bite to eat on their way to and from the nearby beaches or cellar doors. The courtyard is a choice spot on sunny afternoons, and the open fireplace a big drawcard in winter. The menu is full of locally produced and fresh food, but the gourmet pizzas are the main game here so are always a good bet.

Just what the doctor ordered
My friend and I dined at Oscars last night and both walked away feeling full and pleased with our experience. We both ordered a pasta dish and was surprised by the decent size of the dish and the way it was presented. We ordered the olive bruschetta to begin and were blown away with the flavour and the realisation that the bread was house made. My Trio of Funghi penne was served hot and the thin slices of pancetta complimented the dish perfectly. There was no need for extra salt, pepper or parmesan as it was flavour balanced at the table . The final bill for bread, 2 pasta dishes and 2 glasses of red was $51. We are staying in town for the week and will be back!!
