'Orsini' with pleasure
With good company by my side we strolled down the streets of East Hawthorn only to find the treasure that was hidden, Orsini. This was not a reserved or booked ahead meeting, therefore we were unsure whether we would be treated to a candlelit dining experience. Upon entering, we were greeted with a sense of warmth and comfort. The soothing music and light chatter added to the romantic dinner for two that awaited. Nothing was too much trouble, as the waiter prepared our table I had a sense that I had escaped half way around the world to a little villa in Italy.
The menu spelt Mediterranean delicacies, with a wide variety of well thought out combinations. My choice though was not decided by what was on the menu but what in fact was recited by the waiter. Very rarely do I choose the speciale del giorno (special of the day) but it sounded so enticing to say the least. A fillet of rockling on a bed of saffron-infused mash and sauteed spinach, lighting filled with rich lobster-infused stock.
The meal was served within the perfect time from when we received our drinks almost as if it was calculated. The smell of saffron was sweet and innocent as the plate was placed flawlessly in front of me. The presentation was outstanding and my eyes had divulged the meal before I even tasted it. The rockling was pure and almost fluffy in texture with the saffron-infused mash perfectly complementing the sauteed spinach.
The question I asked myself at the end of the night was what would improve my experience if I were to return? Tasting more of the menu. The whole experience was divine to say the least and flawless for my first experience at Orsini.

Orsini
Orsini is a particular favourite of mine when dining in the Camberwell area. The "Yarra Valley" chicken dish is awesome and it is hard to chose anything else! In fact I don't. The wine list is extensive and the staff attentive. Request a table in the window and it's a winner.

I had not been to this restaurant for several years. After walking past it appeared a little different to how I remembered it. We decided to give it another go. We were thrilled that we did. This restaurant is extremely underated! Wonderful food, fantastic service and five-star ambience. Incredible turn around, exceptional value for money! Good work Orsini, keep it up!
