Orient Express

As well as being the owner of a rather cute pun (Asian food + train = Orient Express, get it?), this Southbank eatery has another claim to fame: it's the first sushi train to include both hot and cold dishes. It works just like a regular sushi train, with differently priced plates of sushi rolls, sashimi and even oysters travelling along the track from the kitchen to your seat, but the exciting part here is the extra level. The double-decker train will bring you hot miso soup, teriyaki chicken and tempura prawns. The menu even ventures out of Japan to other Asian countries, offering pad thai noodles, baskets of Chinese dumplings and satay beef.

Great Improvement
After heading here for a second time I noticed a vast improvement from my previous visit. Whilst the 'hot train' had broken down, we were able to order whichever dish we pleased from the menu, and meant that the food standards had increased dramatically. The dishes were hot, fresh & we were able to pick our favourites rather than hope to see them come around on the train. Will be coming back again.

Terrible Sushi - Not worth the money, even on a tight ass tuesday
I ate some sushi at The Orient Express after seeing their add on TV the other night. I must say it was pretty bad, the selection of sushi and other items was very very poor, the staff said that we could order specific sushi if we wanted it, but they didn't have a menu to show what was available. The sushi we did eat tasted quite low quality, the rice wasn't cooked properly and the hot food avaiable was just dry and oily. The glass of sake which I had, which was actually a nip, was a waste of money. Overall this place is really bad, I have had much better sushi at take away sushi bars and I will never be going back to this place. It's hidden away in a corner around from the Crown Cinema complex and It's not worth looking for.
