Organic Gertrude Store and cafe, not surprisingly, places a heavy emphasis on fresh organic produce. But if you are more red-blooded carnivore than hippy vegan, don't be alarmed. Organic Gertrude also includes such fleshly options as biodynamic red meat and organic chicken, both on the menu and the shelves. However, the menu has a large variety of tempting vegie treats including the popular roast tomato, feta and caramelised onion omelette. This is a comfortable and welcoming space to enjoy a meal, or an East Timor fair-trade coffee. Not only is the coffee well made and thoroughly enjoyable, it will also assuage a middle-class guilty conscience! What could be better than that?
