2009 Gourmet Traveller WINE Wine List Guide - "Opus caters well for the red-wine lover, with its solid choice of Australian shiraz, merlot and cabernet sauvignon offset by a small French section that mostly concentrates on top-end Bordeaux."

A Benchmark Degustation Dinner
I was taken to Opus to celebrate by 30th birthday... the degustation menu sets a new benchmark for other chefs and restaurants to aspire to... each course was sensational.

Mixed Bag
Group of 4+pram for wifes birthday. Atmosphere is great, pretty much what is described on thier website. Night started off bad, despite checking when booking if a pram was OK, we were at a table with no space. Several staff happily helped relocate us:) Disappointing when my wife was "politely" asked to step outside when our 9 wk old baby was crying for a couple of mins. Apart from that rude manager, all the wait staff were outstanding.
Food is good. Pick of the mains we selected was the Pork Belly. Everyone happy but nothing made us want to leap across the table and steal someone elses meal. Wine list is impressive however first couple of choices were not in stock. Long list not matched with huge holding.
Not the best value with their pricing - happy to pay top dollar at establishments for the complete experience. That something special is missing.

The night of my engagement
My husband took me here in November 2007 a few hours after proposing to me. So its fair to say I was on cloud 9... which is why I dont remember exactly what I ate - but simply that it was good! The service though blew me away, it was the icing on the cake to a day that made me feel like royalty.

New Year's Eve
I was not impressed with the Champagne served on entry. The food was good, wine excellent, however the atmosphere was not suited for a New Year's Eve occassion. I will dine there again, but not to bring in the New Year.

Outstanding service and food
Having been to the Opus bar earlier in the week, I was keen to try menu at the restaurant. I was impressed by the impeccable service - quick, polite and slightly snooty (in a good way!). The wine list is impressive, with a good selection from Europe, California, South Africa and Australia, although wine by the glass was only Australian.
The chef's canape was swordfish, a delightful morsel to get you in the mood for what was sure to be an elegant and delicious meal. For entree I had the scallops, which were beautifully presented, accompanied by a crabmeat salad with the duck breast as a main. The desert selection was balanced offering sweet, fruit and savoury dishes. I selected the three things chocolate and was not disappointed!
I should also mention that the Opus offers an a la carte menu and a five-course banquet dinner for $110 ($165 with wines included). It's by no means a cheap meal, but this is to be expected as it was a dining experience, not just another dinner. There is a dress code, which is smart casual and a reservation was welcome but not essential. Very pleased customer.
