The Opium Den has a cosy atmosphere and is a great setting for a small dinner party. While the entrance is small, the actual restaurant space is large; walking through you realise how the place was named. The 'dens' out the back are comfortable for a small group, compared to the mayhem of the Cross. The staff are friendly and helpful, serving up Thai meals that, while not necessarily fancy or inventive, represent great value at the price.

Great expectations deflated
Service was like a conveyor belt - waiters more interested in cramming patrons into restaurant and having you out as quickly as possible.
Experience was deflating

The Dark Den
Great restaurant. Overbooked? No worries, they'll phone you when your table's ready. Great, fast service and excellent food. Although we did bring our own torch so we could see our menu and food (lights dimmed just slightly too much). Other than that five stars from me.
