Darlinghurst is one of the coolest suburbs in Sydney, and Onde must be one of the coolest restaurants in Darlinghurst. Prices are reasonable, serves are hearty and generous and the clientele is varied. No bookings are taken, but there is a bar so you can sip on a martini whilst you wait for a table. At one point duck confit was close to being Sydney's favourite dish and at Onde their duck confit is one of the best in this fowl-loving city. It's served with mesclun, caramelised apple and walnut and it's fantastic. Staying within the duck theme, the entree of duck liver pate is also superb.

Darlo's French Gem
After living in darlinghurst for almost 6 months i have only recently discovered Onde and found out just exactly what i was missing out on all these years of being in sydney! Delicious food, friendly and memorable service and very reasonable prices! Everything we ate was great but especially the mushroom pie and the fried squid salad to start and the steak is a reliable staple. I will be going back very soon, and probably many times after that!
