This very secluded cafe right on tiny Malabar Beach is a basic - but very cute - converted corner shop. It's the kind of place that reminds you of childhood holidays in sleepy beach towns, though it's bang in the middle of south-east Sydney's 'burbs. On the menu are the usual cafe suspects, all done with modern twists, and plenty of takeaway breakfast and lunch options. The view of the headland and beach make this a hard spot to leave, especially if you've nabbed yourself a table under the shade of the umbrella outside and have one of the signature retro-style milkshakes or frappes in hand to sip on.
