Sitting on the ground floor of Portal, Brisbane's latest boutique hotel, O Bar offers treats for everyone, morning, noon or night. While the breakfast fare is a fairly standard, it's the lunch and dinner offerings that truly excite.
The menu changes frequently and offers a succinct list of entrees, mains and desserts. Starting dishes include a selection of fresh, velvety and briny oysters, while mains on offer include porcini mushroom and chicken pathivier (a small pie-like pastry) with a caramelised onion stuffing. For dessert, an intriguing dish of semifreddo with rhubarb compote and olive oil sorbet is sure to provide an adventurous end to the meal.
Would-be vignerons should be content with a wine list which, although small, has a few shining gems.
