Since changing hands, the Nowra Steakhouse has slightly changed its approach. The new team, husband and wife Peter and Anna Clarke, are angling for a more intimate dining experience, with candle-lit tables providing a more romantic atmosphere. The Clarkes seem to know what they're talking about, bringing their 30 years of hospitality experience - throughout Armidale, Canberra and the South Coast - to the venture. Its location right next to the tourist information centre means it can get busloads of customers at a time. The steaks make the place, especially the scotch fillet served with prawns and scallops with a cream sauce. But there is plenty of room on the menu for various other dishes, including seafood, chicken and pasta.

Great restaurant
I held my parents 50th wedding Anniversary here and it was brilliant. We were able to supply our own special bubbly even though they are licenced. And they took great care of the cake we dropped off earlier as a surprise for the guests of honour. Vegetarians are very well catered for too. We had 2 vegetarians in our group, and there were beautiful choices for them too.
