Established in 1851, "the Normie" is one of the oldest pubs in South Australia - but it's certainly not being left behind the times, since a renovation in 2003 saw it brought up to date to accommodate the extra people coming to this beautiful part of the world every summer. Just a kilometre away is Carrickalinga Beach, but with not a single shop or watering hole in sight, Normanville is the nearest thing for those wanting an easy, quiet pub meal, and the Normie provides just that. The historic building has kept its country charm, with the dining room offering seafood and classic pub fare, and the leadlight and stonework prettily intact. A relaxed and friendly spot for a lazy meal, this place is full of country charm.
