Noodle House is the second feather in the cap of owner Tony Jape (the first being Noodle House in Knuckey Street). Since its opening in August, 2007, it has been doing a roaring trade and understandably so. Jape has enjoyed astounding success with his original Chinese emporium, but the latest funky, stylish noodle joint is three times as large and located across from the recently refurbished Darwin Entertainment Centre.
The interior is sleek, modern and elegant, blending bright rich colours with contemporary Asian furnishings. There's also an alfresco dining area that's a great spot to watch the world go by. The menu is much the same in both restaurants, but the Mitchell Street outlet has a few new additions, including the melt-in-your-mouth golden prawns, which feature crispy potato-coated prawns with a tasty sauce.
Unlike the original Noodle House, which allows BYO, this restaurant has a much more upmarket feel and is fully licensed with an impressive selection of wine and beer. The Noodle House has long been a favourite destination in Darwin's CBD, but now fans of the Chinese eatery can indulge their tastebuds in style.
