Good Service
This was my fifth visit to Nirankar since its opening at the bottom of Queen Street, but first since their move to the new location. The food has changed a little bit but the service is good as usual. I was a little dissapointed with the Tandoori fish as I believed the choice of Barramundi did not do justice to the dish. Barra has it's own aroma and does not go well with Indian spices. I'm trying to say the Barra is not good, but doesn't go well with spices(al least that's what I felt). Apart from that it was a perferct evening.

Best Indian reataurant & tandoori in Melbourne
We consider this to be the best Indian Restaurant outside the UK. After searching on the internet, reviews and forums to find the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne CBD, we found and tried Nirankar.
Anyone who have spent time in England will agree that the English have a grip on Indian cuisine. Nirankar can put Melbourne on the map to be the next Indian cuisine power house.
We had the tandoori sizzling platter. Cooked to perfection in a real charcoal tandoori oven. Most of the time we had the gas tandoori cooking style. Near to impossible to find a tandoori CHARCOAL-infused roasting method in the restaurant kitchen nowadays.
Cool website as well. Well done Nirankar, well done Victoria. We will put a vote for best Indian restaurant in Melbourne.

Excellent food and venue
I must admit that the food that was served in this restaurant was excellent. The venue was amazing and also the ambience in the restaurant was excellent. We had come for a conference to Melbourne and it was our first time in Melbourne. We were so fortunate to dine at Nirankar and the quantity of food they serve was more than sufficient. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to dine in at this wonderful restaurant. The restaurant staff were also outstanding and friendly.
