One of the few Melbourne eateries that specialises in Afhgani and Persian cuisine, Nights of Kabul may be a curiosity for some, but for many it's a regular destination for delicious and unique flavour sensations. Owned by the Rahimi family, Nights of Kabul draws upon the myriad Chinese, Greek and Indian influences that have peppered Afghani cuisine with its own style. The freshly made and preservative-free dishes run the gamut of tastes, from the mildly spicy mantu (traditional Afghan pastries of minced lamb, onion and spices), to the char-grilled juiciness of the traditional chicken and lamb kebabs.
The venue itself is spacious and authentic, with rugs covering the purple walls, and a stage for live bands who pop by on select Saturday nights for an Afghan music bonanza.
