Known for its steaks and generous servings, this restaurant is a popular dining destination with large groups and people looking to have a good time out. The dining area is well spaced and yet stills feels quite cosy thanks to the homely timber touches throughout. In summertime, order a cool drink from the bar and dine outside in the sun.

Bad Experience at Nicholson's
Food: Large serves which mostly lack taste. I had Chicken Caeser Salad, probably one of the worst Caesers I have ever had. My partner's Waratah Seafood Combo was very greasy and did not look very appetising at all. Child had lasagne and chips, lasagne tasted like something from a frozen section; she only had the chips that were served on the side.
Ambience: It was not a hot day but the air-conditioning was blaring cold air it was absolutely freezing and uncomfortable. We also had to bring our own high chair as they told me over the phone that they only had a few and they were all taken. Also be aware that they do not accept credit card and EFTPOS payments which they do not tell you over the phone, you have to use the little portable ATM that they have at the entrance if you need to withdraw cash. No table service, need to order at the counter. Line to order was huge, but once meals were ordered arrived very quickly.
Overall a bad experience will not be visiting Nicholson's again.

How do you cook chicken??
3 out of the 7 dishes our table tried were chicken, and thats where we went wrong. Now my family have been in here a few times due to the large size of the meals (for the kids). But I just couldnt work out how they had cooked the chicken on the ceaser salad, Chicken Cordon Bleu and i think the Chicken Oscar. THey seemed to be flavourless pieces of boiled meat??. My Caeser salad had waaay to much dressing on it and i almost fell in and drowned!. On a good note though the beer battered chips were stunning and I'm yet to find a restaurant that has better. Service was ok nothing to write home about, but the meal times were quick. I think its a place you would take your grandparents to or somewhere to drop in for a quick lunch if the kids are hungry on a long drive in Perth.

Hair in my dinner
Went for dinner at Nicholson's and had my meal brought out to me with a long hair in my burger melted into the cheese. I pulled a strange face to my husband and the waitress saw this. She was about to approach me when she saw me pull the hair out of my meal. She then turned around pretending she hadn't seen a thing as she must have put it in the too hard basket. I felt ill eating the rest of my meal. At the end another waitress came up to collect the plates and asked if everything was o.k with the meals and I told her about the hair. She replyed with oh no that's no good! No appology or a comment about telling the kitchen staff or anything. Was so discusted with my meal and the service that I would not eat there or recommend anyone else to either. Standards are very poor to say the least.
