The masterminds of Neutral Bay Bar & Dining may not be big on clever names (try to guess where their other restaurant, Glebe Point Diner, is) but the refreshingly modest moniker they've given it belies the quiet revolution happening within.
The much-anticipated follow-up to the aforementioned Inner West smash-hit, NBB&D boasts an air of casual sophistication. With its cream tabletops and earthen hardwood banquettes, the dining area could seem severe if not for the warmth resonating from each and every member of the waitstaff.
The menu is similarly approachable, with head chef Alex Kearns' deft touches prominent throughout. Traceability and provenance are another theme of the menu, with Suffolk lamb, Murray cod and New Zealand snapper a part of this terroir and deserving their inclusion on the menu. Given Kearns' devotion to high-quality produce and seasonality, the menu is bound to be in a constant state of flux, but with his unique brand of innovative cuisine, this is anything but a bad thing.
