This charming Japanese diner is a locals' secret, hidden away in an alley off Argyle Street with a delightful selection of indoor and outdoor spaces to flutter about in and a menu that has suits flocking and Sydney food bloggers raving.
During the day, the special lunch box menu is all the rage, with a colourful mix of Japanese delicacies, sashimi, salads and soups, all served in a pretty little black lacquered box. But come evening, the a la carte menu is something else, with star options like the tender pork maki with tonkatsu barbecue glaze, or the vinegar-fried chicken with crisp cabbage salad and Kewpie mayo. The additional happy hour deal of your first drink free between 6pm-7.30pm is a very welcome incentive for evening eaters.
