Najjar's Cafe offers an extensive menu with touches of the Mediterranean and Middle East. Kick off the day with a breakfast of eggs Benedict with golden globules of hollandaise sauce. Go completely OTT with a bottle of Moet & Chandon bubbles, or sooth your conscience with a chai latte as you sponge up the hollandaise with an English muffin. Alternatively, toasted organic muesli with plump berries and natural European yoghurt is a wholesome option.
Brunch can take the form of a prawn and smoked salmon salad or a falafel wrap bursting with beans, tabouli and tangy hummus. A healthy apricot yoghurt shake brings complementary nutrition to this virtuous-sounding snack. Unimpressed by healthy eating? Catapult yourself into carb heaven with a lunch of linguini marinara. Sauteed prawns, mussels, calamari and tuna snuggle in olive oil with garlic, fresh tomato and a splash of napolitana sauce. A glass of Woop Woop Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz is a luscious pasta partner.
Dinner can be a casual affair with a Najjar's 'nachos burger' and a chilled Corona, or a more serious meal with Moroccan lamb shashliks, veal scaloppine and MSA rib eye fillet. Deep-sea squid sounds menacing but comes with a mellow lime aioli, making for a contented tummy. Orange and almond pudding for dessert is the perfect excuse to order 'l'orange' - a liqueur coffee laced with Cointreau.
