It's fair to say that Port Melbourne isn't exactly buzzing with great cafes like its inner city counterparts; however, if this new Port eatery is anything to go by they'll be bridging the gap very soon.
My Sister Says isn't your typical hipster cafe, as the name may have already given away. It's a tiny slip of a place with a high school art room motif that just works. Oddly angled lamps bathe the bar seating in a soft iridescent glow, while the mosaic on the floor has all the eye-wrenching clutter of an MC Escher.
The old specials blackboard is gone and so are the tired cafe classics that generally adorn it. In its place sits a vintage X-ray viewer backlighting gourmet treats such as flourless blood orange cupcakes and Moroccan salmon cakes.
