Could it be worse?
really average food, curt service, expensive, over charged and credit card fees. how does this place maintain patronage? people around us complaining about hot food being cold and slow service.
give my place a big miss.

Dont believe the menu
Always have a meal here when in Canberra-last night I ordered Corn fed chicken with baked potatoes, steamed vegs and red wine jus. Chicken not yellow(as corn fed are) and tough, potatoes boiled in skins, vegs mainly capsicum, with a little raw carrot, red wine jus a greasy thick grey gravy poured over whole meal-yuk!!Waitress asked us as we ordered coffee if we wanted a meal as well...we had been there for at least an hour eating.Too many waitresses, all in each others way, cafe packed so I didnt complain.Just wont go there again, plenty of other options including nice restaurant at hotel where we stay.Such a shame, it was always a favourite place.

business breaky
After seeing their profile in a hotel publication ,we decided on a mid week breakfast at Mycafe in Manuka .
In summing up the service was prompt and efficient, the meals, eggs benedict on sourdough just right ...and the ricotta pancakes with caramalised pears a treat .
Topped off with great espresso .Thanks we will see you soon !

Poor service
I took an out of town visitor for lunch. After 45 minutes wait in a half empty restaurant we still had not been served. When we asked the wait staff to check they disappeared for 15 minutes. When they returned they brought out the wrong meal. Fifteen minutes later they brought out a replacement meal for me, but had lost what my friend ordered. An hour and 15 minutes - still no food? My friend was now late for her meeting and grabbed a takeaway lunch. We won't be going back.

Below acceptable standard
Six of us went there (Manuka)for lunch today at 2 o'clock, and we're not serial complainers but the food and service were just not up to acceptable standard. One of our overseas visitors had the wrong meal brought to her so she sat and watched us eating until the waiter eventually brought the right meal (with a flippant remark!) and the rest of us sat while she ate. The meals were, on the whole, only ordinary. The service was poor. And when it came time to pay, they couldn't find whoever operated the till because they were at lunch! Fair dinkum. Next time we'll try one up the road.

Bad, bad, bad - don't waste your time!
I have been to both My Cafe's in recent weeks - Manuka and Civic - and have been dissapointed by both. Extremely poor to non-existant service, lengthy delays and poor quality/overpriced food. Such a shame as Manuka's food was much better in the past - find your previous chef and rehire him!

At Manuka I ordered the French toast, expecting thick slice toast, but got one thin peice of sandwhich loaf, like you get from Buttercup. I realise there's a mark-up, but seriously!

At Civic, I ordered mushrooms with spinach and roast capsicum but received mushrooms with rocket. I wasnt told until the meal was brought to the table that there was no spinach left and there was no explanation for the missing capsicum. A good eatery would tell you beforehand to give you the chance to chose again - instead I just got a shrug from the waitress.

My friend ordered an omelette which was very rubbery and couldn't be eaten. When the waitress collected the plates, she didn't ask why the meal hadn't been touched.

I won't be going back to either My Cafe again.

What a treat!
This was such a lovely cafe to dine in!
The service was impecable, one young lady in particular took fabulouse care of us, very attentive, always smiling and managed to keep our table so clean without disrupting any of our conversations!
The coffee was brilliant, one fine young barrista they have on their hands! Finely poured and well presented!
The food was terrifically delicous and so well cooked, and despite them being incredibly busy for a weekday we did not have to wait long at all for the food to be brought out!
I'd recommend it to all of my friends and will be back on a regualar basis!
Thank you My Cafe!!

2 1/2hr brunch
They lived up to their reputation for massive meals. It made my brunch more a feast. The staff are always busy looking after us, which is nice but it can be hard to get their attention.
Nice array of cakes too - great with their coffee.

Great start to a Sunday morning...
Service - vague and impolite.
Food- mmm, isn't eggs benedict meant to be served hot?
Moved four times around the cafe(no joke),in 55 minutes. Finally seated in the middle of the outdoor seating area, only to be seated amongst other unhappy patrons. Seemed that nobody had any food. We were told it was a 30 minute wait after ordering at the first table we sat at. The main waiter's attitude was as if he was above it all(yes you might work in a cafe at Manuka, but you're still just a waiter serving food - smile!). Food was served cold, just like the service. Departed promptly. Definitely won't be back, ta ta.

Not as good as it looks
The place looks nice and welcoming, but the food is somewhat disappointing.

My Cafe
I have been here a number of times and each time I have been disappointed. My Cafe may be busy and thus appear to be a good cafe but it is anything but. The food is so-so and the service leaves something to be desired (too many people and too few staff some days.)

Although the pot of tea is a bargain and a well kept Manuka secret.

Fabulous Breakfast
Fast & efficient service with great food and huge servings on a Sunday morning was certainly a treat. We settled down for alfresco Sunday morning breakfast at this busy little cafe and were immediately greeted by an efficient server asking if we wanted coffee - Yes please - and juice! Having already perused the menu we were ready to order and went for their big breakfast and a serve of bacon & eggs.
In short order we were delivered fresh squeezed juice and mugs of HOT and delicious coffee.
Despite the cafe being very busy our breakfast was soon on the table and the BIG BREAKFAST certainly lived up to its name. Served on Turkish bread toast there was a mountain of fresh scrambled egg (not gluggy), sauteed mushrooms (with a hint of garlic), sausages, bacon and tomato. The bacon was crispy without being overcooked and the fried eggs (with egg & bacon) were served perfectly cooked sunny side up. Upon paying the bill we were cheerily greeted and sent on our way with a "Have a Great Day". We were certainly off to a good start!
