Robert Ziolek and Darek Pietka have been making some of the most exquisite classic pastries and cakes in Adelaide since 1990. In 2004, they expanded to cater for overwhelming demand for their sought-after cakes and gateaux, and the frontage is easy to see heading North from the city along Prospect Road. The warm lines of timber and European arched windows open out in a concertina during the warmer months so the coffee sippers can watch Prospect's passing parade.
The baby cakes, biscuits and petit fours are available for purchase as an assorted packet, or you can select your own and pay by weight. The strawberry and chocolate baby gateaux is a must, and the high frequency of turnover assures you'll always be sampling one at its best. The coffee is on par with some of Adelaide's best, and there are always a number of light meals, Turkish bread sandwiches or baguettes. If all this wasn't enough, they make some of the best croissants in Adelaide.
