Sprawling over four floors, this re-imagined space is like nothing the Sydney dining scene has experienced before: think grungy garage roller door illuminated by pink neon lights leading onto a graffiti wall mural and unclothed communal tables.
The decor might ruffle a few conservative feathers but it's the food that makes Ms. G's truly revolutionary. Six months before it opened it was tipped as just another Momofuku knock-off, but with their opening menu Dan Hong and Jowett Yu have put any such rumours to bed.
Starting with a mini banh mi filled with your choice of crispy pork belly or chicken katsu (go for the pork), the menu is a modern interpretation of all cuisines Asian. Followers of Dan Hong's career will find familiarity in his Buddha's delight textural vegetarian salad, which featured prominently in his appearance on the Oz version of Iron Chef.
Desserts are a playful affair, as we've come to expect from the original members of the TOYS Collective; an irreverent but artful mix of flavours that you will either love or despise, with the chefs' indifference to your response the only predictable element.
