Like mosquitos to neon light, crowds flock to Mosskito; but it's definitely not for something light. Everything at this restaurant, bar, cafe and lounge is big, big, big; from the cosy Chesterfield couches to the aptly titled Mega Burgers. Cloistered in Clifton Hill, this venue offers a wonderfully social atmosphere with differing areas for drinks, dining or both: stainless steel chairs and tables comprise the casual dining area, while a funky, white-painted, neon-lit bar is the liquor stop before settling into a smooth sofa by the fireplace. Big bites dominate the internationally infused menu, with green curry prawns, American-style ribs and ricotta fettuccine just some of the diverse delicacies that come in one size: large.
Less peckish diners can munch into wraps, focaccias, salads or noodles, while cocktail connoisseurs can try out the Mosskito special: the Mosskito Style Bloody Mary. Featuring vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, lemon juice, salt and pepper and a celery stick, this beverage is sure to be a nice buzz.

Inedible 2
I agree with the other posts, this place is terrible. I had a Ceasar Salad. I asked for anchovies, as I was told it didn't come with them. However, no one informed me that I would be charged an extra $3.00. I asked for my egg to be soft-boiled but it came hard-boiled. The salad was drenched in dressing, it ended up pooling at the bottom of the bowl and the dressing was definitely not a Ceasar Dressing. I paid, all up, $19.90 for something I wouldn't feed pigs. Do yourself a favour and find another place.

Inedible!
2 years ago, Mosskito had excellent food at very good prices. Last night, we were sorely disappointed. I had the American ribs and it was just too tough to eat! The meat wasn't fresh either and the sauce did well to cover up the smell!! Hubbie's friend ordered the Spag Marinara, which came in a thick creamy Carbonara sauce - just awful! A waiter asked how the food was and I said the beef was tough. His face changed immediately, he was not happy to get that feedback. The size of each dish was humungous - but what is the point if there's no quality? We paid up within 10min of the food arriving, and were forced to waste a lot of food! Not recommended to eat there, perhaps just stick to beverages!

All hype
Judging by the size of the restaurant I expected it to be much better than what it was. We were seated quickly but the waiters then proceeded to swan around for 20 minutes before taking our order. It seems as though getting the meal out on the table was more important to the chefs than the quality of the food itself. All in all although the meal sizes are novel it was quite wasteful as it was impossible to finish and the food was undercooked.

Busy at peak times, but feels empty during meals
Packed to the brim at peak times, this place can get loud and busy! However during off-peak times this place just feels empty.
Family-friendly with a choice of tables or couches to sit on, also a haunt of the odd footballer too! Lots of choices on the menu but be careful ordering - the serves are HUGE! I've been here for breakfast, lunch and brunch but not yet for dinner.
