This pub dining room gracefully walks that fine line between modern gastro-pub cuisine and old-fashioned boozer grub. Thus, the menu features more than just bangers and mash, fish and chips and an ubiquitous sirloin, but doesn't drift too far from its roots in either substance or pricing. The room is dressed up with white linen and old-fashioned drapes but remains as comfortably casual as a pub dining room should be. The aforementioned fish and chips features on the menu, alongside dishes such as a chicken terrine, tasty pasta and, of course, a good parma. After dinner, the hotel offers a similarly comfortable and unpretentious bar for a cleanser or two.

Special in the right way!
This is one of our local pubs - and it has "Frugal Monday" menu on Monday nights - all main courses are $13. A good selection, including a couple of vegetarian options. Meals were nice without being sensational - good pub food really. Lots of wines to choose from by the glass and good friendly and attentive service in a lovely old dining room with an open fire.
