Moray Cafe

One of New Farm's original cafes, this reliable eatery has been around for more than 25 years and has not been weathered by time. In fact, it's undergone a few makeovers in its time, but the atmosphere remains warm, homely and eclectic. Under new management since October, 2008, Moray Cafe has expanded its modern Australian menu to include some Franco touches from French chef Rodney "Rocket" Florent, though the highlight is still the famous Moray Burger, a stack of 250gm beef, haloumi, salad leaves and tomatoes with corn relish on a toasted focaccia bun with home-made chips. With everything home-made, the Moray also does big egg breakfasts, octopus or lamb salads, and gluten-free options.

Surprisingly Great
After being dissappointed on a visit a few years back, we had been recommended to try out the moray again, and I'm glad we did. The place was buzzing with people but we got a table straight away and received really attentive service and fast drinks. But best of all was the food we both ordered of the specials board, I had a mushroom special and my partner had thai fish cakes. The meals looked amazing and tasted even better. The after meal service wasn't quite as good as the arrival service but we will definately be back. Well done Moray, It's good to see you are back!
