The Source Restaurant

Perched on the outskirts of Hobart, The Source combines metropolitan convenience with the rural splendour of the Moorilla Estate vineyards. Through the wide windows of the restaurant, diners can soak up majestic views of the mountains and the surrounding countryside, making the bustle of the CBD feel a million miles away. The modern Australian dishes can be well matched with the broad selection of Moorilla wines or, for those who prefer something cool and sudsy with their meal, the on-site brewery produces several different types of beer.

Outstanding
We arrived at Moorilla Estate on a rainy, cold Friday for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the modern surrounds of the restaurant and wine tasting bar, both of which have a wonderful aspect over the Derwent River.

We started with a selection of oysters, which were plump, succulent and fresh. These were washed down with a couple of glasses of bubbles, and a sampling of Moorilla's micro-brewery ales (all highly recommended).

Mains consisted of a special mixed tasting plate, and a fish. Both were extremely tasty and perfectly cooked/presented.

The service was outstanding, with the young woman attending us being very knowledgeable on all aspects of the menu (wine, beer and food). This is somewhat of a rarity in the hospitality industry and we very pleased and tipped her accordingly.

Overall this was a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend it to people visiting Hobart.
