Montereys

Monterey's has all the hallmarks of an international hotel restaurant: the service is faultless, the lighting flattering and the decor modern and white. Their buffet is one of the best in Perth. The choice is enormous, including a fresh seafood selection ranging from crab and smoked salmon to fresh oysters and prawns. The chef can also cook a miso soup or stir-fry from your choice of ingredients.

Very Over Priced.
I went here for a meal and I have to say... for the price we paid, it was no where near value for money.
The seafood selection was decent and I did enjoy that aspect, however other than that it left a lot to be desired (and if you don't like sea food, you would have very few options).
The carvery was roast beef (over cooked and fatty), the lamb rogan josh was so chewy and lacked the appropriate flavours, the ribs were ordinary, something you could easily get elsewhere (cheaply)... honestly it was such a let down.
The desserts were pretty decent, however, again, nothing out of the ordinary.

It was probably a small step up from Sizzlers.

Overpriced Buffet
I recently visited the above restaurant and would have to say i was extremely disappointed as i had heard it had the best buffet in town. The seafood was good .The selection at carvery was one item beef, one soup pumpkin the cheese platter was two small pieces of cheeses on a small entree plate. The cold and hot selection was average with salami being the only cold meat. The sweet selection was a couple of small pieces of cake, small tarts, ice cream and sticky date pudding with no sauce. Overall the service was average, no sugar on tables. For the price of $55 extremely overpriced.
