Monsieur Truffe

The aim of the game at this chocolate haven, along slick Smith Street, is all about the sinfully sublime couverture used to create a slew of cocoa bean delights.

There's freshly baked French pastries available as well, a bon idee (good idea) for those wanting a great cup of coffee with a buttery, chewy and perfectly flaky croissant. For the truly wicked, the chocolate croissant is a must.

salacious summer sorbets
Monsieur Truffle produces (easily) the best hot chocolate i've ever had the pleasure of drinking. So i assumed the winter months would be the cafes strongest. How wrong i was! In the summer they make the most delicious assortment of sorbets i've tasted. The dark chocolate sorbet (yes that's right, not ice cream, sorbet!) is particularly impressive. It has a rich yet clean taste and is quite light. They also make a splendid affogato or iced coffee. Love this place.

Delicious
The perfect place to have the most delicious pain au chocolat. The tastes and smells in this quirky little cafe remind me of my time in Paris. The service is lovely. Everyone must take home a bag of the cocoa dusted caramel almonds!
