Taking fusion Japanese to new heights, Monkey Magic offers plenty of dark wood and breezy beats in a rather cavernous and voluminous space. With its open kitchen, patrons can watch from afar as skilled chefs create fusion Japanese delights with plenty of theatre thrown in for good measure.
Dishes on offer include twice-cooked pork belly on a bed of puree carrot with an ume-shu and lemon grass reduction, or pepper-crusted tuna with spaetzle (small dumplings which from the German literally translates as "little sparrows"), water cress and a sesame ponzu dressing. For those wanting to taste their way through the varied flavours on the menu, an eight-course degustation is available. For an after-dinner drink, head to the adjoining bar space for some signature cocktails.

Full of surprises
You don't really think much of it when you walk pass the dull coloured doors of this restaurant and I wouldn't have personally chose to come here if it wasn't for a last minute attempt to make a booking for a saturday night dinner.
The sashimi and sushi were absolutley amazing... we ordered several dishes from the entree / small dishes menu, and each did not fail the tastebuds. The soft shell crab roll was one of the best~
I would recommend ordering several small dishes as opposed to the mains because, though still delicious, the entrees take the glory.
