Looking like something straight out of Paris but with none of the pretension, Mon Ami aims to provide classic French and European-inspired cuisine in intimate, quaint and inviting surroundings. Specialising in duck of all descriptions, the menu is rich and rewarding - as is the wine list - but what really makes this place shine is the atmosphere. It is a welcome point of difference from many Australian restaurants where stainless steel and schmick austerity rule. A little treasure in the heart of Fitzroy, and well worth a visit.
