This popular noodle eatery is the perfect place to refuel after a hectic day of shopping. For under $10 you can slurp up bowls of ramen noodles. The gyoza dumplings are an ideal start to your meal. With everything made in-house, this is authentic Asian at a great price. The restaurant name has a story you should ask about, and there is a general mood of relaxation here.

Hand made cheap eats
Great authentic tasting noodle broths, even better tasting gyoza. Arguably one of the best gyoza I have tasted in Melbourne. A little heavy with the garlic but that's just how I like them.
Not for everyone's tastes the Tonkostu Rahmen (white bone soup) is a salty broth famous in the Kyushu region, and has been very earnestly replicated here. This is as authentic as rahmen gets in Melbourne. Other crowd favourites seem to be the curry rice dishes and selection of rahmen. If it were true Japanese style a master would only offer up his most proud rahmen broth and your decision would be either small, medium or large. Get in early for the limited number of Tonkotsu bowls chef does each day.
Don't forget to get some frozen gyoza to take home also. Not quite as good as Master makes it but it will keep you from withdrawal symptoms until your next visit.
