You'll be seeing stars and stripes and leaving with a full stomach after an all-American feast at Misty's Diner. The US of A may be the "land of the free", but it's also the land of the overloaded hamburger, the ketchup-soaked hot dog, the bubbly thickshake, and cheese, cheese and more cheese. Owner Misty Singer has brought a taste of Arizona to the streets of Prahran, offering an authentic experience that's as close to a 1950s American diner as you can get.
Cheese-yellow umbrellas line the entrance to the bright aqua-blue and tomato-red exterior, attached to The Works carwash on High Street. A step inside is a step back in time, with retro multi-coloured booths, Elvis posters and smiley American waitresses in candy-striped uniforms.
The star-spangled menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, from a chili con carne omelette in the morning to a Misty's Mexican Burger at noon and a Pig Out Platter at night, followed by temptations such as the Texas brownie and the Oreo and white chocolate thickshake. Vegetarians are well catered for too, as well as American beer lovers who can't get enough of Budweiser.

How the Amercian's Do It!
Walking into Misty's Diner, is like stepping onto the set of Happy Days, very mid-1950s to mid-1960s America. The staff wearing the typical diner atire of the era and the walls covered in memorabilia from Elvis to Marilyn Monroe. The service we received was served enthusiastically and staff were very knowledgeable of the many many meals on the menu. I ordered the "Misty's American Style" burger with a side of Con Queso Frie's. Both lived upto the true American sizing. My partner ordered the "Bite Me" burger. We both could not finnish the meal however enjoyed the flavours and the service, and who could resist a meal which comes with a small american flag. All together the night was roughly $50. You can not leave with out Misty herself coming to see whether you were enjoying your meal, her broad american accent and her love for her restaurant was the cherry on our chocolate and peanut butter thick shake! If you feel like going out wearing your trackies while relaxing and having a laugh, this place is for you true AMERICAN style.
