Seeking to do something a bit different, MISHT Indian Cuisine focuses on "new age Indian cuisine", giving dishes meticulous attention rather than a by-the-numbers approach. The menu starts with soups rather than breads, including an intriguing "tomato egg drop", and a spinach soup sprinkled with herbs and spices. For the next course, the various chicken, beef, lamb, prawn and vegetarian mains channel a plethora of Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Maharashtrian and South Indian recipes for an authentic touch. The tastefully decorated dining room provides an appropriate backdrop with local photography Mark Tidy's atmospheric snapshots of India.
