Mirabelle

This is a lovely space near Circular Quay station. The well-appointed interior is dotted with elegantly comfortable Eames chairs and lined with vibrantly red banquettes. The restaurant affords glimpses of Circular Quay and the Harbour Bridge, and one end is open to people picking up takeaways. A marble forecourt adds a tinge of glamour, although any resultant noise is absorbed by a deep carpet.

Pass on this restaurant for a long while
We have often frequented this restaurant over the years as it is usually lovely food and consistent. However, after the last bad lunch, we gave it a miss for 2 months and loyally tried again last week.

It is convenient as one of us works in the building, is good for a business lunch (or used to be) and used to have good food. We are not sure if it has changed hands but the food and service are appalling. We did not receive any of our side orders, we ordered two main meals which were identical except one contained prawns, the other sausage and one was a special of the day order pasta, the other off the a la carte menu. The bread is now dry old pieces of bread and used to be lovely rolls. Not sure if owners have changed or just no longer frequent the restaurant but their sister restaurant Bambini is far better and recommend giving up on Mirabelle for this year and going to the other end of town to Bambini. Or just find another in the area for a while! So nutshell, food and service bad, which makes the atmosphere only bearable (it is in a lobby after all!)
