Unfortunately, Indian food in Australia seems to be more and more likely to be found sitting, waiting in the bain-maries of unkindly lit diners. But it's important to remember that eating your favourite dish from the subcontinent need not be a drunken takeaway affair; rather, it can be a quality dining experience. Which is exactly what Mint Leaf reminds us. Owner/chef Resham Singh has compiled a menu that features flavours from all regions of India, as well as a couple of surprises of his own. You'll find classics such as tandoori chicken, rogan josh and beef vindaloo, but why not branch out a little and try the woodland mushrooms marinated in spices and yoghurt, or the chef's specialty: lamb chickpea masala.
