The newer sibling of the ever-popular Gouger Street classic Ming's Palace, this place is set slightly away from the main Chinatown drag. Stylistically, too, it is not quite in the same league as the cheap-and-cheerful, fast-and-furious Asian eateries that dominate Gouger Street; rather, it is a more up-market, refined version of fresh Asian goodness.
You don't have to order the steamboat (which involves cooking your food yourself at the table, making plenty of mess and having a bit of fun in the process), as there are plenty of great, less-do-it-yourself options on the menu, but it's a big part of the experience here and shouldn't be missed if you're after an enjoyable and authentic food experience.
