Milkwood was the name of a terrible Canadian rock band formed in 1969 which featured a future Celine Dion backing singer and thankfully never released an LP. Milkwood in Brunswick is far less disturbing. It's a funky little cafe with great food and cupcakes.
The new project from the partnership behind the original Cafe Rosamond, Diana Korndoffer and Alex Patterson, the opening of Milkwood should have Brunswick locals everywhere rejoicing. With pedigree like Rosa, it's no wonder this place does such great cafe fare. The menu is a mix of reinvented modern cafe staples and nostalgic touches (bringing potato gems back from childhood is a stroke of genius) rounded out with some seriously good cupcakes to satisfy the sweet-tooths.
