Just as Michelangelo made a living out of painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the 16th century, the team at Michelangelo's Restaurant at Aspendale Gardens aim sky-high to create their own masterpieces in the 21st century.
It's been a long journey for the Michelangelo name, moving from an artist's palette to a diner's palate, and that's where this restaurant likes it. Specialising in modern Italian-style servings of pasta, pizza, risotto, steak, seafood, poultry, salad, breads and assorted desserts from gelato to tiramisu, Michelangelo's has more than enough to service romantic a la carte dinners, family outings, business lunches or even on-the-go takeaways.
Cloistered by residential estates, the lively venue holds a sprawling 200 seats inside and 70 outside, so diners have ample room to tackle antipasto entrees, traditional and gourmet pizzas, and a seafood mixed grill featuring fresh fish, prawns, scallops, calamari and mussels cooked in lemon, garlic and white wine sauce, with added salad and a garlic potato mash.
