Mia Cafe

Once the site of an old chemist shop, this Inglewood establishment now serves a famously effective remedy for hangovers in the form of the Cafe Mia extreme breakfast, which, as the name suggests, is an extremely generously sized fry-up. It also stocks the highly aromatic boutique coffee, Essenza, best taken with a homemade biscuit or cake from the glass display cabinet.

If you have any special dietary requirements, accomplished chef Chris Lambert will be happy to prescribe something suitable. What's more, the oasis of calm this little cafe provides with its chilled-out vibe, peaceful shady courtyard and charming leafy verandah will soon relieve you of any stresses of the day.

Very average
Was looking forward to breakfast but came away very disappointed. In the past this cafe was great, with good food and happy smiling staff but not anymore.

Good food
The food here is of a high quality which is rare. The breakfast at Mia is easily the pick of the Beaufort St stretch. Unlike most breakfast menus in Australia, Mia has a decent variety and can provide more than just a coffee and a two day old pastry. They do seem to grasp that there are food items other than bacon and eggs. The coffee is excellent. Service is polite but very uncompromising and inflexible when it comes to getting parties in and out. They almost always seem to have vacant reserved tables sitting there for lengthy periods of time. If they learnt to manage this better they could extract a few more of the dollars their customers are trying to throw at them. Pricing is high, but so are all their WA competitors.

Mia Cafe
Good food and good atmosphere. You have to be aware that (as we were informed whilst enjoying our meal) all tables have a 2 hour turnaround. At the end of 2 hours we were told that we had to go, remainder of my coffee placed in a takeway cup and sent on our way.

Breakfast and lunch - still to try dinner
When we want to go somewhere we know isn't going to disappoint, we go to Mia Cafe. We have had breakfast which was fantastic and the waiters wonderful, we have had lunch, which was going to be a coffee and cake but the menu looked far too appetising and it was really enjoyable. We have yet to try dinner but the Thursday night pasta night sounds very good.

Check out the garden centre and gift shop attached - really lovely!

You will probably need a reservation for breakfast.

Dinner for 2
An early dinner - simple and inexpensive. They could do better with their music selection as we could just hear the radio from the kitchen, however the food was still lovely.

Brilliant
Dinner was sensational! We had the $10.95 pasta special - delicious. And the service was second to none. I'll be back.

Long Time Favourite
I have been going to Mia for breakfast on the weekends for a couple of years now. The food and atmosphere is always top notch. The only problem is that they can get too busy and serving takes longer than normal. However, that said, this is the BEST BREAKFAST on the Mt Lawley Inglewood strip, bar none. Go there now.

Thursday - Pasta Night
What a great idea. Have often visited for the superb breakfasts and a quick coffee but the Thursday night pasta night is great. $10 and you get a pasta meal, herb bread and coffee. Just the thing before or after shopping for groceries. Very pleased with the portions, not too much and not too little. Great idea for a quick meal. Congratulations to all the staff at Mia.

Mia Rocks
After driving past Mia several times, I finally dropped in for some lunch, all I can say is YUM! I had the tasting plate. If that was a taster of what Mia serves, then I can't wait to go back and try everything else. The staff were very friendly and warm. Can't wait to return.

Fantastic find, a vitual oasis
Strolled into this fantastic cafe on Sat night while looking for somewhere to dine, and was immediately greeted with a smile and a great welcome. The ambience of this cafe/restaurant was just beautiful. The cafe is split into 3 areas: alfresco dining on the veranda, which overlooks a beautiful garden area, the main cafe inside is spacious and warm and welcoming, and the other alfresco area, which is situated at the back of the cafe and has an old English oak tree as its canopy. The music was tasteful, and also appropriate.
The evening menu was varied, and the staff were well versed with what was to offer. After eating the meals, which were superb, and the coffee and homemade cakes (yum), we relaxed and lost ourselves in the atmosphere.
Well done Mia Cafe. Top marks to the owners, the staff. Also a final note: The cafe is attached to a beautiful garden centre. WOW, what an oasis.
