Mezza Lebanese Grill

It's all well and good having a sophisticated meal out at a place that softly hums with the whispers of self-conscious diners, but if you're after a more lively experience Mezza is a better choice. This vibrant Lebanese restaurant pairs exotic fare with traditional Arabic music and energetically gyrating belly dancers. The spectacle is great for raucous parties, but just as much fun for couples.

A banquet for two
We had never been to a Lebanese restaurant and it was the reveiws on this site that convinced us to try Mezza.
First I will say if you have a preffered meal time book early, this resturant is popular and with good reason.
The staff were friendly, efficent and helpful especially to we inexperienced.
The menu was extensive with something for everyone.
We selected the Cedar Banquet which gave us an amazing range of tastes.
The quality of food was excellent although not having tried any other Lebanese restaurants we can't provide a comparison.
As for quantity, anyone who got up from the spread that was put before us and complained they were hungry could not be serious.
We have now added Lebenese to our list of favoured foods.
Make sure you try Lebanese wine and beer while you are there.
As for the belly dancers; fantastic they really made the night.
I would hesitate to recommend Mezza as a romantic place to go as it is a terrific family friendly restaurant but maybe on a week night it may be more intimate.

A memorable birthday!
We celebrated Mum s 70th birthday at Mezza recently and had a fantastic night!
The atmosphere was great for young & old! The staff are all friendly & helpful and the belly dancer was a lot of fun. To our surprise she got Mum up to dance with her, that was one of the highlights of our night!
A huge variety of authentic food (including vegetarian), cooked fresh and all delicious!
Will definitely be recommending Mezza to my friends!
Thank you Mezza Team!

Messahhhh!!
After reading all the positive reviews we finally had a chance to visit.
Arriving at 1830 without a booking, we were hopeful but not optimistic. However after a short wait & aasuring the waiter we would be gone by 1930 we had a table in the front lower section.
We ordered wine as we were being seated & by the time it arrived we ordered 4 starters & a salad, & the experience started.
In very quick succession we received complimentary picked vegies - good, garlic bread - no so good, & a plastic package of pita bread (it never got openned). This was quickly followed by our meal selction & we were faced with a feast.
Overall the food was very tasty with top marks for the Samke Harra (a cold fish dish), however the Spicy Prawns were dry & lacked any real flavour & the fried pita bread on the fatoush salad was way out of proportion with the rest of the dish. But the rest of the food was superb.
The atmoshere was great with groups of people obviously having a great time, however the use of AM reserved signs on the tables cheapened the "feel" somewhat.
The only real complaint was the limited & basic wine list, it was hard to find a good drop. However given it has a BYO option this is probably understandable.
Overall a very enjoyable experience, with very attentive & swift service - highly suited to groups - however i would recommend bringing your own wine.

Delicious!
I have eaten at Mezza just twice now however simply cannot stop raving about it! The food is delicious; highly recommend the spinach, cheese and garlic dip with the crispy herb chips, not to mention the lamb shawarma for the main.

The service was fantastic, both friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was incredibly lively without being too over the top/noisy.

Looking forward to becoming quite the regular.

Great time out
We'd planned to eat at another place on Lygon but couldn't get in. Turned out to be a good night after all. Great range and heaps of vegetarian options for our meat challenged friend. The price was pretty good too. There weren't heaps of people there but it was early so the atmosphere was not pumping yet. Will go back when its packd and see what it's like.

great for kids
We had a great and relaxing meal at Mezza...which isn't always the case with a two year old in tow. The service was very friendly, the space roomy and the food was quick and yummy. It's a great place to go for a every night dinner or a special night out--without the littles!

Surprising late night delight
After a long day we stumbled across the restaurant at about 10pm and were expecting to get nothing more than coffee and cake. Instead, we were able to sample the full menu with the food being fresh and tasty. The staff were a little pre-occupied in cleaning up for the night - but we weren't completely neglected. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Awesome experience!!!
I sort of just stumbled across Mezza when I was unable to get a table at another restaurant close by, and this was quite possibly the greatest discovery ever! I was immediately impressed by the super friendly service. Our waiter was very helpful when it came to describing the menu and reccommendations etc. Our food was brought out to us in a timely manner and it was so delicious!! The falafels are quite possibly the greatest falafels I have ever tasted! Yum! The restaurant got quite busy during the course of the evening, but our waiter kept up the excellent service! I highly reccommend Mezza!

Yum
This is one of my favourite resturants in the area. The food is delicious, fresh and filling. The service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is relaxed.
I go monthly with a friend and we always order one of the delicious platters.

Food is delicious, service is great
As soon as you walk in to this place, regardless of whether or not you have a booking, the waiters will greet you by you name. The food here is delicious, the service is great sometimes they are very busy, but you always are attended to. The owners came out and say hello too which always makes you feel important. My friends and I eat there on a regular basis and I find it all round excellent. Doesn't matter whether it's a Thursday night or a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is tops and if you sit in the front section. You really feel like you're in The Middle East. The Belly Dancers are fun. What can I say apart from everything about this place is Number 1. Just go there and you'll understand why you should be there.

Beautiful dinner & evening!!
Thankyou Mezza Lebanese Grill for such a memorable dinner!! It was such a special night as my boyfriend had just arrived from overseas to live in Melbourne and I wanted to take him to a different type of restaurant that had a great atmosphere and beautiful food...you certainly catered to both that night. He had never tried Lebanese food before & it being one of my favourite cuisines you have definitely left him with an outstanding impression and can't wait to get back and enjoy the delicious food. You couldn't fault the friendly and patient staff as the menu was so big I wasn't sure where to start but enjoyed my vegetarian platter and look forward to working my way through the rest of the menu in my future visits! I highly recommend Mezza Lebanese Grill to anyone who loves good Middle eastern food. Thanks again!

Very disappointed
I have eaten in many Lebanese restaurants, and this was the worst Lebanese food I have ever tasted. I eat a lot of Lebanese food and cook it. Do not recommend it. The food is overpriced for its flavour. I have been to Lebanese restaurant from to expensive, and this was not good.

A little disappointed
I have visited this restaurant bec. of the recommendations and reviews I have read. It is a very nice restaurant, with A1 class service (outstanding). The food was very tasty, however we had the Cedar Banquet for three people and the main course was very sparse.
On the plate you could find a handful of lamb on rice, a handful of chicken on rice and 3 Kebab of Beef, Chicken & Lamb (I think it was). That was it! Now there were plenty of entrees but to have to share 3 Kebabs between 3 people is a bit light on. One has a banquet to share and try different things, but there was only 1 Kebab per person and as I said only a handful of two other dishes, that's it.
Dessert was even worse, not in taste, but in size, 3 of the tiniest pieces of Lebanese desert and I mean tiny. They were that small that one had trouble to cut it in two pieces, let alone in three. I would visit the restaurant again, as it has a nice atmosphere and the belly dancers were also a nice touch, however next time I would just select a meal from the menu, hoping that one would receive a better meal size. The Banquet is definitely not worth its money.

What an experience
I've never had Lebanese food before and boy have I been missing out. We had a group function at Mezza Lebanese Grill tonight and the food and vibe to the place was great. We all had a good time and many of my co-workers agreed this years Post-November cup function was the most memorable. The food was fresh and full of flavour. The service was very friendly and the feel to place was relaxed and warm. The belly dancer was great to watch, man can they move! I will be taking my wife their for dinner and I highly recommend that anyone that wants to try something really different go to Mezza!

Happy to take our large booking and the staff were so so so accomodating. Takes me back to eating at big Lebanese restaurants as a kid, right down to the belly dancer! Go Princess Yasmina! Delicious food. Wonderful staff.

Traditional and outstanding service
I am so happy I tried this place out. I live in the area and walk by Mezza almost daily. I've always wanted to try it, but I was worried I would be disappointed like some of the other Lebanese restaurants around. I was way off, this place was amazing! The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the service very professional but also very friendly. You could tell they took pride in making the night special. I will be back many times, I'm sure and I really recommend this place.

A memorable dinner
I am a firm believer that a dinner out should be more then just about the food. It should be a total package that includes food quality, great service, a good feel about the place and how it all comes together. Mezza Lebanese Grill really delivered on all these points for me and my group of friends that ate there last night.

The food was fresh, full of flavour and well presented. The service was friendly, fast and not pushy. They were very easy to deal with and treated us like you were the most important people there even though place was full. The place had a good feel to it, not too busy like some Middle Eastern restaurants I've visited. They have done a great job with the place. Overall, our dinner was very memorable and I hope that they keep up this level of quality and service, if they do, I'll be a regular for years to come. Thanks again!
