One of the first to offer Mexican cuisine in Melbourne, this is a fun, kitsch and reasonably priced restaurant with all the traditional dishes on offer. Much tastier than the contents of store-bought meal kit, here they use the same recipes they did when the restaurant opened in 1973, with the meals slowly cooked on earthenware plates to enhance the flavours. Try the quesadilla supreme made of a large tortilla filled with cheese, chicken and salsa, topped with guacamole, sour cream and served with rice. Or if you're feeling brave, order the infamous chilli burrito. While you're waiting for your meals, enjoy a selection of dips or sit back and relax with one of their frozen margaritas.
