A procession of tables and neat white umbrellas stands perched above the promenade, with views of the sprawling river out yonder. These kinds of outlooks are usually reserved for upmarket seafood restaurants or boutique coastal eateries, but, be that as it may, this humble bowls club enjoys such a spot, sitting pretty opposite the gorgeous Brisbane River.
Punters can snack on beer-battered chips and burgers betweens games on the greens or nab an ice bucket of Coronas and make an afternoon of it. The pub-style fare comes in generous portions, as do the drinks at the club bar.
