Merricote


It was a blow to Melbourne's dining scene when Hotel Max finally shut its doors for the last time. Thankfully you can't keep a good partnership down and husband and wife team Bronwyn and Rob Kabboord are back with this intimate European bistro.

As always chef Rob rattles the pans while sommelier Bronwyn runs the front of house. Rob, whose impressive CV includes stints at Quay and Claude's, manages to cooking with a sensitivity that produces a menu both intensely comforting and richly rewarding. Paired with Bronwyn's consummate knowledge of wine, this newly opened venture is already running like a well oiled machine.
