The super-modern, sleek look of this Brissie favourite gives you a hint as to the menu - this is pub fare with a difference. Sure, there are lunch specials and Wagyu burgers, but you'll also find some surprises, like the pepper-crusted tuna and haloumi and orange salad. The breakfast menu is surprisingly well executed, and the daily specials are hard to pass up.

Hit and miss
He ordered salt and pepper squid, beer battered barramundi and honey and cardamom dumplings. He thoroughly enjoyed it all.
I ordered king prawns, pumpkin and spinach salad and apple tarte tatin, and would never order any of these dishes at this hotel again. In fact, I would seriously think twice before going back here again if not foro the great service.

Nice meal before the match!
Had a group booking here before the last State of Origin match; the bar was busy and dining room quiet; we were seated next to an open door which was really cold (even though we were all dressed up for a cool night!!). The steak was seriously good; I ordered wagyu sirloin - real melt in your mouth stuff... and cooked a litle more medium than the medium rare I had ordered..(no surprises here.. I find this in many Brisbane eateries). The Melbourne is a far cry from the run-down dump it once was; a modern sports bar and dining room; they do pub grub very well. Would do this again!!
