One of the long-stayers of the rather hectic Pacific Highway strip, Mehfil Indian Restaurant is a popular north shore restaurant especially renowned for its tandoori foods (chicken tikka or tandoori prawns anyone?). Elsewhere on the menu, variety seems to be the spice of life - excuse the so-obvious pun. As well as the requisite chicken, beef, vegetable, fish and prawn curries, Mehfil also offers biryanis (traditional Indian rice dishes), tandoori breads, and desserts like gulab jamun (cottage cheese and semolina dumplings in warm honey-laced syrup).
