Gordon Ramsay: the man needs no introduction. His sheer star power, whether you like him or not, is enough to magnetise even the most seasoned diners of Melbourne to his two restaurants in the Crown Metropol complex, Maze Grill and Maze. Marking his first culinary venture into Australian dining, Ramsay's restaurants demonstrate a respect for Australian produce, with chef John Lawson ably manning the kitchens.
At Maze Grill, the thrill of the grill gets the star treatment as chefs cook up a storm in the open kitchen, serving up prime cuts of meat in this New York-style grill setting. Alongside the various grass-fed, grain-fed and wagyu cuts, the menu also dabbles in pappardelle, braised pork cheeks, roasted barramundi, and a selection of small plates to begin or complement your meal. The desserts put the literal icing on the cake, including a baked cheesecake and a rhubarb and vanilla sundae.

No Wow Factor
Had the pleasure of being invited to the Maze Grill private room. Had a terrific night with our friends but what a let down was the Maze Grill. Stuck away in a corner with no atmosphere, served food that was good but not special at all. Waited so long for the coffees that we all got up and left. Disappointing end to what should have been a special dining experience.

Maze - Absolutely Appalling
Disappointing all round!
We arrived on time for our booking, shown to our table an hour later. Food was average bordering on terrible. Service was almost non-existent, gave up on ordering a second bottle of wine. The experience left a sour taste in our mouth. Despite the efforts of the manager trying to sweeten disappointment by enticing us with complimentary desserts, we decline as we just wanted to escape from the chaos.
Gordon Ramsay where are you? Perhaps you need to attend to the issues in your kitchen and restaurant first than others!
