The chocolate aroma drifts through the door, drawing unsuspecting passers-by into this timber-trimmed cafe. Inside, shelves heave under the weight of boxed truffles and bags of chocolate shavings.

Bad service cancelled out the great chocolate
After some serious biking from the city to Manly, Max Brenner on Manly Wharf beckoned. Big mistake. Even though there were at least five teenagers working, we waited quite a bit at the counter to order. Getting the drinks was another unneeded wait. During this time, our table was never cleaned - chocolate marks on the tabletop from the previous customers were quite obvious. We noticed too that many if not most of the empty tables still had cups, plates, and saucers left on them, even though the place was not busy.
I really liked the Italian dark chocolate drink, but not that much.
